In the Dunes

This morning a friend of mine, who I painted with in Jupiter last month, Jason Prigge, met up with me to paint along the northwest end of the island. I walked him all around the dunes, pointing out some of my favorite paths and patches of sea oats; shapes and passages of light/shadows that have become so familiar and beloved to me over the past couple years of painting here on Anna Maria Island. As artists, we naturally find ourselves drawn to certain subjects, themes, and genres throughout the course of our artistic journeys. At this point in mine, dunes are definitely my muse and it was fun to share it with a fellow painter!
